How to Play Teen Patti (3 Patti)

3 Patti, also known as Teen Patti, is a popular Indian card game often referred to as “Poker Game.” It is a fun, fast-paced game that combines elements of luck and strategy. Teen Patti is widely played in casinos and among friends, especially during festive occasions.

In this 3 Patti tutorial, we’ll guide you through the rules of the game, how to play, and strategies to enhance your chances of winning.

Objective of Teen Patti (3 Patti) :

The objective of Teen Patti is to have the best three-card hand at the table and win the pot (the money placed in the middle). Players aim to beat their opponents with better hands or by bluffing them into folding.

Step 1: Set Up the Game

  1. Number of Players: Teen Patti is typically played with 3 to 6 players.
  2. Deck: The game is played with a standard 52-card deck. All cards are used.
  3. Ante Bet: Before the game starts, each player must place an ante bet (a small compulsory bet) into the pot.

Step 2: Dealing the Cards

  1. The dealer shuffles the cards and deals three cards face down to each player, one at a time.
  2. Players can peek at their own cards, but they must keep them hidden from the other players.

Step 3: The Betting Rounds

The betting in Teen Patti typically proceeds in several rounds, with players having the option to raise, call, or fold based on the strength of their hand.

  1. Blind Betting: Players may choose to play with the blind option, where they don’t look at their cards before betting. They can only raise or call based on their intuition. This is a risky option, but it can pay off if you have strong bluffing skills.
  2. Seen Betting: If a player looks at their cards (known as “seen” cards), they can make decisions based on the strength of their hand:
    • Bet: Place a wager.
    • Call: Match the current bet made by other players.
    • Raise: Increase the bet to a higher amount.
    • Fold: Discard your hand and exit the round.
  3. Raising and Calling: The game continues with players either raising their bets or calling (matching) the highest bet. If all players fold except one, that player wins the pot.

Step 4: Showdown

Once all the betting is complete, the remaining players show their cards. The player with the best hand wins the pot. If two or more players have the same hand, the highest card in the hand wins.
